On the sarcophagus of Tutankhamun, gilding will be restored almost 100 years after discovery
In Egypt, the restoration of the sarcophagus of Pharaoh Tutankhamun continues. Giza Museum specialists have already begun to restore cracked gilded plates. According to experts, to return to its original form, it will take from seven to nine months of work. For the first time, the sarcophagus, along with the treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun, will be put on public display in 2020.
